The Saltires, led by skipper Owen Gold, easily defeated Italy by 151 runs, displaying tenacity and a considerable increase in net run rate. Their third successive appearance in the competition was marked by this victory.

Jamie Dank, the Saltires’ opening batsman, had a brilliant innings of 96 runs off 99 balls, but Gurpreet Singh’s bowling, which saw him take seven scotland cricket team wickets for 25 runs in eight overs, led to a collapse. After losing five wickets in Jaiveer Singh Hayer’s nine overs, Italy was unable to recover and was eventually dismissed for 78 runs.
On Saturday, the hosts Netherlands, Jersey, and Norway all won matches before Scotland did. Their successful campaign secured their position at the top.
