A Tribute to Shri Oommen Chandy: Remembering His Contributions

“All political parties’ leaders have extended their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Oommen Chandy. Senior Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and Shashi Tharoor expressed their deep sympathy. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal visited the Chinmaya Mission Hospital in Bangalore, where the former Chief Minister passed away this morning.

Prime Minister Tribute to ‘Oommen Chandy’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through a tweet on Tuesday, expressed his sadness over the loss of the former Chief Minister of Kerala, stating, ‘With the passing of Shri Oommen Chandy ji, we have lost a humble and dedicated leader who devoted his life to public service and worked tirelessly.’

He further added, ‘I remember our various interactions, especially when we both served as Chief Ministers of our respective states, and later when I moved to Delhi. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and supporters. May his soul rest in peace.’

Priyanka Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi Tribute to ‘Oommen Chandy’

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also conveyed her grief through a Twitter post, writing, ‘I feel deep sorrow for the passing of Shri Oommen Chandy.”He stood as a formidable pillar of the Congress party, a true leader who devoted his life to serving the public and unwaveringly upheld the values we strive for today.” We will always remember him with great respect and cherish his wise counsel.’



Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also paid his respects to Chandy, tweeting, ‘Oommen Chandy ji was a remarkable grassroots Congress leader.
“His unwavering commitment to the people of Kerala will always be treasured, and his absence leaves a profound void in our hearts.”


Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor shared pictures with Chandy in a Twitter post and paid his tribute, writing, ‘Death is not extinguishing the light; it is
“Like Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore wisely said, we only put out the lamp when the dawn has arrived. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Om Shanti!”

The Indian National Congress also shared a heartfelt message for Chandy through its official Twitter handle, stating, ‘Deeply saddened by the demise of Oommen Chandy, the former Chief Minister of Kerala and respected Congress leader.”Shri Oommen Chandy will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the progress and development of Kerala. As a true politician, his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul find eternal peace.”

Akhilesh Yadav Tribute to ‘Oommen Chandy’

Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav also expressed his condolences on Twitter, saying, ‘Deeply saddened by the demise of Shri Oommen Chandy, former Chief Minister of Kerala. “Sending my deepest condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”

Former Congress leader Kapil Sibal also shared his grief on losing a dear friend, writing, ‘Oommen Chandy’s demise is a loss for Congress’s culture, both as a Chief Minister and otherwise, he always served people, especially those on the margins.’

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also bid farewell to Chandy, saying, ‘We were elected to the assembly in the same year. It was the phase when we entered the political arena through student life. We lived public life. Saying goodbye to him at that time and now is extremely difficult. Oommen Chandy was an efficient administrator and a person closely connected to the lives of the people.'”
