In the third One Day International (ODI), India defeated West Indies by 200 runs to win the series 2-1. Hardik Pandya then lambasted the West Indies Cricket Board for the poor preparations they had made for the tour.
Both the Indian captains and their post-match presentations shown symptoms of discontent following the conclusion of the ODI series.

In order to offer additional opportunity to young players like Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad, normal captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested, therefore Hardik took over as captain for the second time in a row. The BCCI had previously come under fire from Indian cricketers after their late-night trip from Trinidad to Barbados was delayed by nearly four hours, causing them to miss sleep before the opening game of the ODI series. Senior players asked that no late-night flights be scheduled between games when there is little time between them.
Hardik had previously made waves that day with his sarcastic remark regarding former West Indies bowler Samuel Badree. If India were to lose the series against the West Indies, Badree had questioned Hardik on the pressure he would feel as the first Indian captain to do so in 17 years. “That’s fine,” Hardik stated after a convincing victory. I enjoy being distinctive.
Hardik was making waves in more ways than only with the microphone in hand. That was also how he felt when batting. As the new batsman at number five, Hardik took his time before pushing India’s score to 351/5 in the final five overs of their innings, which is the highest ODI score by India in the Caribbean. With five sixes and four boundaries in his 70 runs off 52 balls, Hardik contributed.
West Indies‘ batsmen had no answer to the Indian bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur prevented the hosts from recovering after Murali Kumar got three wickets with the new ball and put them on the back foot. India won by their second-largest margin against West Indies by limiting them to 151 runs in just 35.3 overs.
Hardik Pandya expressed his desire, stating, “I look forward to being in scenarios where I experience the pressure as a captain.”
1.3.Embracing Pressure: Hardik Pandya Desires to Thrive in High-Stakes Captaincy Scenarios
“This is a unique victory. Being frank, I look forward to games where there is a stake in them as a captain. This was superior to professional cricket. We were aware of what was at risk and that losing would be disappointing. The guys had excellent character. They took pleasure in it, which is crucial in high-pressure situations. Without facing pressure, you can’t be a hero, Hardik remarked.
Hardik congratulated his new bowlers for winning the game during the Powerplay while giving the batsmen credit for setting up the game. “It was always crucial to get 350. When you reach such a score, the opposing batsmen will usually target your bowlers, and if you’re lucky, they’ll really target your bowlers. Gill made some outstanding receptions. Late in the morning, West Indies formed the partnership that carried the game into the 34th over. The Powerplay effectively brought the game to a close.
India will be led by Hardik in the forthcoming five-match T20 series against West Indies, which gets underway on Thursday at the same location.
