Wahab Riaz announced his retirement from international cricket, capping a 15-year chapter in which he represented his country.Actually, the announcement is more of a formality because Wahab hasn’t participated in any Pakistani international games in more than two years. In white-ball cricket, he made his final appearance at the conclusion of 2020.

Wahab’s career took an unexpected turn earlier this year after he was appointed the Director of Sports for the Punjab province in Pakistan. Hopes were high after he made his Test debut in 2010, especially after he was instrumental in Pakistan’s victory over England at The Oval by taking four wickets. His trip did, however, have its ups and downs.
